Open SUP yoga classes, vinyasa or yin

Every week through the season I run open SUP yoga classes at Sickla Strand. You book your place, arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for the safety briefing, and are then on the water for 75 minutes.

The classes are held at Elton's Café and rental. Smashing Balance run the site and provide the boards and the lakeside sauna, which is included in every class.

Booking goes through Smashing Balance. Looking for a private event for a hen party, a team or a birthday instead? See private SUP yoga.

Paddleboards by the dock at Sickla Strand

    Vinyasa SUP yoga

An active flow on the board. Soft transitions, adapted for the water. You build strength and balance while settling into the breath.

    Yin SUP yoga

Calm, held postures with the water moving underneath you. Restorative, and ideal after a long working week.

    Sauna by the lake

The sauna is included in every class. Warm up afterwards, jump in the lake, sit and let the evening settle.

    75 minutes including paddling

We meet on land, run the short safety briefing, paddle out to the anchoring spot, do the class, and paddle back.

    All levels

No experience needed, in yoga or on a board. The boards are wide and stable. The class is adapted to whoever is there.

    Common questions

    Where do I book?

Classes are booked through Smashing Balance at smashingbalance.se/collections/sup-yoga, where you can see the current schedule and all ticket types.

    How long is a class?

75 minutes in total, including paddling to and from the anchoring spot. Come 10 to 15 minutes early for the safety briefing.

What is the difference between vinyasa and yin?

Vinyasa is an active flow with soft transitions, good if you want to move. Yin is calm, held postures, good for recovery. Both work for all levels.

    Is the sauna included?

Yes, the lakeside sauna is included in every class, whichever ticket you have.

    What does it cost?

A single class is 350 SEK with board and sauna included, or 150 SEK if you bring your own board. A 10-class pass is 1,000 SEK and the 2026 season pass is 1,500 SEK.

    Do I need experience?

No. The boards are wide and stable, and the class always starts with a short safety briefing on land. No previous yoga or paddleboarding needed.

    Do people fall in?

Early in the season, while the water is still cold, I keep the classes simple and we do few standing postures. Most of it happens seated, kneeling, or lying on your front and back, so there is little chance of ending up in the water. As it warms up I add more standing poses. If it does happen, the water is clean, you get back on the board and the class carries on.
